About

My name is Amichay Oren, the last position I held was as Chief Technology Officer & General Manager at JAJAH between company inception in late ‘05 to acquisition in late ‘09 ;  I was responsible for R&D, global JAJAH network operations, eCommerce, Fraud Prevention, BI,  Project Management and various business activities in Asia & the US.  Most of all I was responsible for the company DNA & Spirit.

Prior to joining JAJAH, I was Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Vitronet Ltd., an Israeli bio-pharma start-up providing revolutionary technology for computer-based prediction of human Pharmacokinetics based on molecular structure.

I also co-founded Expression Inc., a one-stop-shop for collaborative software. As the company’s Chief Technology Officer I led & participated in multi-million dollar contracts with various industry leaders and in the acquisition by SAP. Subsequently, I worked for SAP in Product Development reporting directly to the SAP headquarters in Germany. I was responsible for SAP’s Real-Time Collaboration products and later assumed responsibilities for SAP’s highly sensitive joint projects with Microsoft.

In earlier days, I co-founded CyBook Inc. a U.S. based start-up with offices in Sunnyvale, CA and Tel-Aviv, Israel. Cybook developed an electronic book and supportive web and desktop environments. I served as the company’s Chief Technology Officer and was responsible for its hardware development, embedded programming, advanced display algorithms development and web connectivity.

I hold a Bs.c. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Tel-Aviv University, and completed my studies for Ms.c. in Computer Vision at the Weizmann Institute of Science, but never turned in my thesis, as I moved to co-found CyBook at 1998 – my sincere apologies to Prof Ullman!

On a more personal note, the biggest challenges in life are my three gorgeous daughters, Shani, Inbar and Sapir. My interests span over a wide range of areas; from Computer Science (distributed/cloud computing, security, computer graphics, Internet technologies  and biological computations;), to sailing,  traveling & hiking, meeting new people and facing new challenges. I also enjoy reading, martial arts and believe in integral thinking. Oh, and I like to cook (and eat)…

I’ve never believed you can really tell a person by reading lines such as the ones above, so if you really want to know what I’m about, you’ll have to contact me here
